if it's an 8 valve thats normal change the rockercover gasket to a rubber one that'll stop it

Engine oil of 1 bar at idles nothing to be concerned about as the engines not under any load, if however that situation was occuring at revs and load then id be worried, but yours sounds good to me.

mine always sits at around 3.5 at idle and then off the scale at any rev. but i always wondered about my oil temp. it never moves only slightly above 60, im guessing its not working?

What shows voltmeter in that moment?
If there would be not enough oil in engine [and that's about 1 liter below minimum!], pressure would fluctuate

the voltmeter drops too, less than 11 volts on a healthy 12 volt new battery.

when the fan is off then I have a good healthy 12 to 13 volts, good oil pressure and temp. When the fan is set at speed 1 or 2 then all is OK but when I select the speed 3 then the oil pressure and voltage guages drop and the oil temp goes up. It's a definate step change. I am not too worried, it's just a characteristic of the car
