Got the colour chart books for paint/carpets and stripes '83 and they state Helios blue with red/blue stripe and the name of the other blue which I've forgotten now used on the from lower spoiler.
Did the colours change from August that year though.

1983 Model year colour chart...
http://www.kvquattro.com/1983AudiCoupeBrochure.html

To my knowledge, only Carb fitted WN engined GT5S's (or early WR's) carried Helios Blue....

The pre-facelift update for the 1983 build year (Sept 1982 onwards - from factory, not dealers) saw a new colour range, revised engines (all Fi) and the swap to Right hand drive specific bodyshell settings... (eg wipers, brake, accelerator, clutch linkage etc).

I'll check the dates on my books tomorrow.
It's all the colour cards and fabric trim pieces (cloth and carpert). They are factory dealer books with all the VAG range and there's several years of them as well!
I thought it was 1983, but must be 1982.

Anyway, mines a 1982 in Helios and it's a sexy ass colour!

Half the problem is the crossover of dates between the factory and registration, as an 82build year car from July '82 could be registered as late as early '83... Either way, a 1994cc JS was out of the 1983 build year, the WN GT5S ran up until the end of the 1982bu.

other problem (or not!)

Amazon Blue was two tone with dark metallic blue, Helios blue was two toned with lighter blue (red and blue pin stripe as well) as shown clearly here.

which can also be seen here

Amazon Blue didn't have the lighter blue front lower spoiler did it?
