Default whats it worth?

I have a decommissioned WR engine believed to be circa 1984, not been run since!!

it consists of the head still atached to the block and sump, turbo, both manifolds but not sure if the exhaust is cracked or not.

Chap we bought the car from said it had 19k miles on it BUT I dont have any proof of this claim.

also got a gearbox.

I was going to strip it down or send it to 4V6 but thinking about it I'd rather just palm it off to someone who can make use of it.... and put the money to other uses...

(Its in Bo'ness in Scotland)

Nah Rich

Keep it and get it done up for Archie - After all you'll need a better motor to keep up with me and Colin - Remember First tour is Argyll, late March

I'd say donate it to Tony and let him have a play with it!

In the interest of product development!

you could, but you could also be sat on a lump of metal which could turn out to be more trouble than it's worth to the unsuspecting new owner who thinks they are getting a bargain!

fence post.... sore arse!! always caught in the middle. to even get it anywhere would need to be couriered on a palet or ask Colin to split it for me and keep the head, the rest I dont need

Colin also has a spare engine from the same guy.

sadly without evidence of mileage and service history to most buyers its a basket case they hope will open to be a diamond mine.... in reality its worth what someone will pay, removing head and sump would allow potential buyers to inspect the major areas...

headgasket would be done along with cambelt anyway for any engine conversion (i certainly wouldnt fit an engine without doing them to ensure they are tip top). Whilst head is off it can be checked for trueness on the mating face as well as the usual cracks between valve seats. The bottom end is more detailed... the honing marks on the cylinder walls will give an indication of the bottom end health but piston rings, shells and main bearings could also be checked.

I wouldn't expect its worth more than £300 without service history and mileage verification though rich, and even then thats a top figure...
