re-reading it..and if its not the fuel distributor..

fuel pressure regulator poopahoopeid..??

sounds like the systen may be receiving full pressure from the pump..not a regulated control pressure..??

if it was to be this would the car not even try to start as it only turns over and over and makes no attempt to fire at all ,,,would this also known as the fuel accumalator that sits beside the pump?

no. on mine the pressure regulator is beside the metering head (kind of in the wing)
on yours it will probably be integral to the metering head.( a little shuttle valve i think)

biggyin is the man with the diagrams though..!
biggyin do you have a cutaway pic or location pic for the pressure valve in the head..?

today i fitted a new filter and fuel pump and when checked there was massive pressure at the filter ,so i then pulled 2 injectors and fuel is getting through in a fine spray so surely the car should try to start but no it still just turns over and over ,so tommorrow all plugs get changed and injectors wiped clean as there was alot of black gritty residue on the 2 i pulled

when I had that sort of problem years ago with a 2.8 Capri the more it turned over it would not fire for ages .the very nice man came around took out all the sparkplugs and heated them up with a lighter to remove the residue fuel and turned over the engine to remove the excess fuel in the cylinders put back the plugs and the bloody thing fired
All it was i flooded it

just an idea ya never know
