No the opposite if anything. When cold, the car wont idle at all! As soon as you lift off the accelerator the car stalls, even when driving! Takes 6 or 7 minutes of driving before it warms up enough that it wont stall. It makes driving very awkward, will appreciate any help on this subject.
I,ll watch this thread.
I have similar problem(same engine)when cold and hot.
It stalls and then sometimes it catches(next start)and sometimes it doesn,t??
I,ve cleaned stabaliser(carb cleaner)all that did was cure idle speed.(level now)
Cleaned all breather pipes, well bunged up.That seems to has made the car more responsive. But still same problem??
When I,ve got more time I,m going to do more checks.I can put up with it for now, because it only happens every so often.
We can confere notes.
I,m going to get my multi-meter out and also test all the pressures.
I,ve read afew manuals and still none the wiser. So many Could be,s.
It will take time.
I will update you,when I do checks?

it's unlikely to be the ISV if it's only showing symptoms from cold.

I'd suspect a fuel / air mixture problem. might be worth inspecting the breather and vacuum hoses on the intake and cylinder head ventilation tract

I am not 100% certain its the ISV causing this problem, if it was the ISV failure then the idle would be all over the place hot or cold. I would look to see if its something else first.
