Love the story, hate the US spec lights etc. I bet that ends up going for over $20,000.

Well.... it's $12k for a Mk1 golf... 'New'....

So, for another $5k you could have a 'new' Mk1 Gti track car.... (or recreation if you so wish)

Sell the fallout for a couple of $k... And there you have it... A brand new racing mk1 Golf for $15k...

15,000.00 US dollars = 9,354.00 British pounds sterling

That's a bargain....
