The car is my 1993 C4 Audi 100E 2.0 8v.

Last week it failed its MoT on, amongst other things, a massive split in the exhaust just upstream of the cat and emissions.

HBOL tells me there's a nut accessed via a hole in a heatshield but doesn't give me a clue as to where.

It works perfectly on the key, it's just the switch on the driver's door that's dead. The wiring diagram in HBOL shows an additional 12 A fuse that the handbook doesn't mention. No idea where it is...

Small C4 central locking issue

It is almost trivial but the locking button on my driver's door doesn't work. It means that ifif I only unlock the driver's door then have to pick the kids up I have to get out and unlock on the key....

I've taken the switch out and contacts are all fine. Put it back in and it's stopped lighting up. Both the illumination buld and the "on" bulb are out.

It's the front nearside. It doesn't look too bad to be honest. Having a flange that unbolts makes it a sight easier than just having CVJs either end of the driveshaft so you have to pop the inner one...

Can anyone tell me how the rear suspension on an Avant differs from a saloon? Is it purely the spring rate or is the spring a different rate?
