Default Advice

4 weeks ago a member of this forum offered to sell me a small component and I paid him straight away. After 2 weeks it hadn't arrived ao I sent a PM in case he had forgotten. He responded almost immediately saying he had been busy. I know what that's like so I didn't worry about it. Another two weeks passed and still no part and now he's ignoring my pm's. I know he's been online from his profile.

It's a silly small amount of money but there's a principal at stake. Any suggestions on how to either get my part or get my money back?

I had the same issue, sold a load of parts and the buyer(which we are not allowed to name for some reason??)didn't pay me the amount he owed, also he wouldn't return the parts.
Put it down to experience and don't do it again,I now do a bit of research before buying or selling
Another thing to do is pm the mod so he knows and if you see any posts by the culprit comment on them and warn proposed buyers by pm
On other forums there is a name and shame section

There should be a name and shame section but I can appreciate the reasons for not doing so, namely legal action against the site and owner for libelous comments. I know I know, sounds ridiculous but some people are just assholes through and through!!

Good luck with it. Similar $hit happened to me on another forum. Thing was with me being a new member and all the mods took the side of the million times poster and I`d ended up with nothing and left.
Like has been said before $hit happens and there will always be the occasional knob.

If we had a name and shame there would be quite a few bell ends on it for ripping people off , I know suppliers have got their fingers burnt in the past let alone members

I had the same issue, bought a load of parts (Paid a lot of £££ for them too) and the scammer (We are not allowed to name) Tried to scam more money out of me for the scrap that she tried to call parts!! (Ripped them off the car and not removed - she had no understanding what the word "Complete" meant either).

Put it down to bad experience in the end "My loss her gain" but she continued with her threats of scratching my eyes out if I did not pay more money!!

But I am not interested in getting involved with her "Biatch fest" going around trying to spread rumours; I have better things to do with my time: razz:

Oh and the scrap was in the end just scraped as she never picked them back up or returned the £££'s!!

Thanks to everyone for the support. To be fair to the other party in this, I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to con anyone, more of a breakdown in communications. Hopefully sorted now though.

Good stuff you managed to sort it in the end.
