Default New Windscreen

I had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass this morning. The windscreen cost for an 1986 Audi 80 is £480, but as I have fully comp with the AA, i only had to pay a £50 excess. The guy came popped the old one out within a matter of seconds, and then started to install the new one. He took under 20 minutes to change the windscreen, I was very impressed!

Heres some pics.

£480 just shows how much profit they could make on those,a bloke local to me can supply type 81/85 windscreens for less than £120,fitting is only £20-£30

I did exactly the same last December for my MOT. Also paid just the 50 quid excess and got an improved windscreen - the old one wasn't tinted! Mind you, there was 3 weeks of Auto Windscreens ringing to book an appointment only to cancel because they couldn't get hold of the glass. Was also pleasantly surprised not to see bad rust under the seal. Still need to treat it, but its no where as bad as some windscreens I've seen on these coupes.
