ooo thanks , I have missed the past few meteor showers with cloudy days, will watch out tonight with the kids.. we are lucky in that we are far from any towns/citys and bugger all light pollution.

Half the problem is not having a zoom lense yet

even with a 200mm lens you still have to zoom the pants off the picture to get any detail. And a tripod is a must.

Ive got a Lumix G1, I think the standard lense is only 45mm, will be getting a 200mm soon with any luck
Ive got a Velbon tripod which Ive had for a couple of years

Just by chance I stumbled across the photo today courtesy of the BBC and Getty Images. I'd love to be able to capture something like that

It has,somewhere?Even makes the tea.
I,m ashamed to say,I,ve got a high end camera and can,t fully use it.Last year,just used it mainly for motorbike racing.Nearly mastered it now,after alot of practise.(harder than you think.)Very hit and miss.
I,ll have to practise more this year,like Coxy.The manual for it,is about an inch thick.
