Thanks for that peeps, she did have a long life though, we had a Newfie once and she only lasted about 7 years.

We just found out today, she (Bonzo - not named by us) was at least 18! Bloody hell. Her first owner had her as a pup, in 1995. That's a long time ago. Then she had one bad owner.. then our kiwi friend, then she came to us when he went home. No wonder she was a bit old deaf and slow, she did well.

Glad I didn't kick the arse out it last night.....getting on and all that!! So managed a good walk with wife and dog this morning.

I can only echo Isimmos's comment above. He sums it up perfectly and only a true dog lover can imagine the heart breaking experience of losing ones best friend.
My Border Collie is fast approaching 12 years and I treasure every day with him.

Seeing as we're showing our faithful friends, here's my mutt Chewie, got him from an animal shelter as a six week old pup 9 years ago and he's been a joy ever since.
