Sounds like again that low production thing was in US and UK but not in germany Germans made them all the way until end of B2. Of course, they are rarity, but not so big. I just took a look at www.ss.lv and I found two for sale - http://www.ss.lv/msg/en/transport/ca.../80/bclop.html and http://www.ss.lv/msg/en/transport/ca.../80/ccjpc.html . Ok, both advertisements are old.

I can't understand why some ppls destroys good cars to create short coupes and sq recreations AWD technology advancements in past twenty years had made had made originals to loose it's sports value but short coupes and sq recreations doesn't have any historical value at all, just scrap + parts value

Not sure these 2 later 2drs can be used as donor cars for SWB SQ's.
Something looks different (besides the nose).

Either way, thanks for posting these. I was sure that they stopped produccing them by 1983.

Yup Scirocco Scala wheels, I had 3 Scirocco Scala's as company cars , the early ones were colour coded so if the car was white so were the inserts of the wheel design a bugger to keep clean !

They were also standard on the short lived Santana GX5 - a lovely car and VW's answer to the Audi 80CD.

What u will do with that 500 bhp sq recreation against 500 bhp subaru which goes around corners without powerslide?
P.S. How about 500 bhp? Relatively weak engine, knowing 2.2 20vt capabilities, unfortunately transmission doesn't have such capabilities

I think youre missing the point somewhat, and as far as the 2.2 20vt being weak at 500bhp then the ones you're talking about obviously weren't built properly. Plently of circa 500bhp motors in the s2 world that arent having any issues. And weak transmissions? I dont think so.

2.2 20vt is capable of 1k bhp [maybe more, I don't know][not in street tune, of course - does anyone use SQ recreation as DD? ] and similar amount of nm, but gearboxes can't withstand that .
