I have a question.

On the demon tweeks website the only suspension kits that appear to be for a b2 audi 90 quattro are either from a coupe quattro 83-88 or from an 80 quattro 86-91. there is nothing actually listed for a b2 90 quattro. is the coupe quattro 83-88 and 80 quattro 86-91 running gear the same as a 90 quttro b2??

B2 Audi 80 and 90 Quattro running gear the same? I'm wondering would the b2 80 Quattro suspension kit fit a b2 90 Quattro.

Well in my experience the type 89 kit doesn't seem to be correct for the type 85.
Type 85 80 quattro should be the same as 90 quattro type 85.

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...40mm-all-round

This one should fit, the site doesn't list 90 quattro type 85 but it does show the coupe quattro which is the same.

Is it any surprise?

I wouldn't bother about springs, as spring is spring even in africa, it will always be possible to find some suitable springs - unfortunately parts supply for other parts that wears out, is slowly drying up - like, I'm wondering which manufacturers are still offering rear shocks for quattros with macpearson struts in rear - sachs/boge just discontinued, bilstein likely long time ago [at least a year or two ago they offered B4's only for front, I don't remember about B6'es and B8's, but these are sport shocks, so no interest for me - maybe russian Plaza - well, anyone else? Of course, there are a couple of possible substitutions - 1) C2/C3/C4 front shocks are almost the same, only thread at the end is different, so it's work for the turner 2) It's possible to mate hub of split rear struts with top part from front suspension, enabling to use front shocks 3) Possibly, also there could work the same solution, as usually for S2/RS2 front shocks, where manufacturers usually offer the same "civilian" model shocks, but with inserts to fit them in these struts.

Also it might be good to buy some rear diff left side seals before they are discontinued, right side will be available for a long time, cheaply, anywhere, as it was used in B5 passat gearbox. Front seals for B2q rear diff have been discontinued already, but at least it's possible to fit there rear diff from B3q/CQ.

Eh, whatever. Just my sad thoughts. I love bicycles - not only they aren't consuming any fuel, but also I have almost no parts supply problems for them, despite I'm using bicycles made in 80's in soviet union - in worst case I have to replace some bigger part to be able to use parts available now - like fitting new rear hub to be able to fit any rear cog [soviet cycles have rear cogs with 1 mm smaller opening], or replacing whole bottom bracket to have cranks that attaches reliably to bottom bracket - and there will be no problems with parts supply in any foreseeable future. Why it couldn't be that way with the cars?
