Default B2 90 quattro suspension kits

Hello, I was wondering is there many people using the spax VSX lowered suspension kit?

If so how do you find it?

Also what other set ups are people running?

I was gonna go down the route of Bilstein b4 or b6 shocks and a good set of springs but it might be just as handy to get a full kit.

If so, what mix of shocks and springs are people using?

Thank you

Kind regards!

I'm currently using a Spax kit on my 90 quattro, not sure if it's the vsx or not.
However the set I use is for a B3 and not the B2 so the ride height at the rear is not good. Also I think it's pretty soft for a lowering kit. I have had Weitec on some of my Audi's and it's been good, but from now on I will go coilover of custom made springs only to get the ride (height) I'm after.

The kit im looking at is specifically for the b2.

Coilovers would be nice.

I doubt that it has to do anything with kit being intended for B3 If something from that kit works poorly on a B2, it shouldn't work better on a B3 - after all, typ89q, especially early examples, are basically rebodied Typ81q/Typ85q - mine, being early example, had suspension, which differed from B2q basically with C3 brakes and it's 30 kilograms heavier than early Typ81 Audi A80 2.2 quattro. Even with Typ8A the main geometry difference in the rear are different steering rod mount points and the weight is being gained either mostly in front, or through the entire car.

I ordered the spax vsx kit. No other kits out there by the looks of things. Down the line I might make up a coilover kit with parts of a b3 quattro.

I got the idea that the spring seats on the rear struts seem to be higher on the strut than on a type 89 car because the springs are on the tall side compared to the travel of the shock absorbers. If you get what I mean?

I think that I understood. If you have any bare B2q rear struts available, we can test your presumption, as I have early B3q struts lying somewhere around - by measuring some dimensions.
