I got a shock when I drove the 100 for the first time, they do need a good shove! big difference from the A6.

When you work through an ur-quattro or Type 44 braking system and restore EVERYTHING to nominal the brakes are excellent. Most of the 'Porsche monoblock' and similar upgrades done to 1980s quattros are pointless Band-Aids to a sub-optimal braking system. |

Main difference I found on my CQ was the following:
I changed all of the pads and disks and refurbed the callipers and the brakes were pretty rubbish even after all of that. Next thing I did was change the brake flexible hoses, what a complete difference, firm pedal and much better braking efficiency, the car I think now stops as its intended to.

Overhauled the coupe brakes on my poor old gt and they were absolutely fine.
Never had any cause for concern with them. |

This is true, I had my eyes opened up to this at Castle Combe this year, on track, in a quattro, with standard single pot brakes and uprated pads... It's braking ability was astonishingly good. competition standard almost.
