Anyone know where to get Boot lid gas struts for a 1985 B2 Audi 80 sport?

No gas struts on the 80 Sport I have and there are no struts on the rear donor end of an Audi 80 CL. There are some sort of metal rods that criss cross the area under the rear parcel shelf and they must be the springs that you are referring to. Definitely no gas struts though.....

According to VagCat/ETKA, there is a strut listed.
811827552A. Option? Although, knowing how Audi's attention to detail goes wrt their drawings, that may be the tailgate strut. T'internet gives a length of 305mm, rod stroke (oo er) of 110mm, or there a outs.

its on the face lift models '85 on.. i used the gas struts off a mercedes 814 battery box, used to work in a coachbuilders.. the battery boxes were replaced and dumped, so i salvaged 2 struts... if id have known!!!!! company shut since!!

I've always found any struts I need on here (in one way or another, even if just finding something with the right length and stroke) -
http://www.strutsdirect.co.uk Pointed that way by the late great Groomus. I imagine if you contacted them they'd find you something that'll fit. |
