What's the point of buying and storing new fuckus, to sell it at scrap value 20 years later? Comparable lowest spec 80's escort won't cost much more than scrap in any case.

Because in the UK we seem to like spending stupid money on 30 year old crap cars that nobody really wanted when they were new, however we don't like paying decent money for high quality older cars that we wanted when new but couldn't afford..........you got to love us Brits..

Well, apart from dwindling parts supply and some unique body parts, it's simple as an axe and has basically the same mechanicals you can find in A200q and A90q, so I guess the most expensive thing will be the same as with every car in west - work. Provided that owner is doing as much as possible by himself like me and that he doesn't crash the car, there's nothing expensive. Unlike the R8.

My old pal Al Parker (Lee20vt's dad) has got one. I like it. Defo a Marmite car, but so much more interesting and charasmatic than the default A6/5 Series/E Class etc. The scary thing is it's been reliable. Can't say that about a modern Audi.

Well, you will not want 1.1 fuckus when it will be 25 years old, because there's nothing inside, just rubbish, and currently it's selling just because it's new and 5 years old it will still sell just because it will be very cheap. For storing you would have to buy ST or RS, not 1.1

Totally agree. However, go to any classic car show, and the amount of Audis there is either very few or none. Compare that with similar vintage Mercs and BMWs. The thing with these old Fords is that they do sell at those 'mad' prices. I do think this will change with time, as Audi is now such a popular brand. Having said that, that Mk1 Granada Ghia in your fourth link I do like. Plus it's an ex Press car.
