Ok back from seeing the car!!!.... well. I'm a little crushed. It was someones winter fun machine.
Although it was a true euro import to the states... maybe 1 of 5 here? It was just terribly rusty underneath. And I'm talking about ROT. fingers were pushing through and many existing holes were already there, chipping off to the floor. Front euro bumper was clean. Steering wheel was aftermarket, quattro switch moved to under ignition??? Stereo space had a storage box there???

Where are the paint codes on the EURO 82 cars, under the trunk lid carpet?
Now, I checked all over for a hit and couldn't find any. So if it was resprayed, then they did everything. Engine bay you name it. Fender bolts did not look to be worn. Looked orig to me and a few spots that were rusted did not show another color underneath. Although the paint looked fresher than the underside so I will assume it was sprayed in the 90's possibly as according to the paperwork on the car many a THOU $$$$$ was sunk into this car. It did have a fresh timing belt job but then the brakes were gone. I mean pedal to the floor, rusty lines, frozen calipers, rotors maybe too. Hand brake only or I almost crashed into the garage. But it ran. Sounded sweet and growly like it should.
Window regs gone. Trunk latch gone. Sunroof inop. Suspension springs gone. Sun cracked dash. Nice seats indeed and dead mint floor mats that I offered to buy on the spot! Oh what else. I'll show the good stuff only out of courtesy. I'm trying to convince myself to jump in. But it is the deep end.

Running is a bonus. Whats the topside like? at worse is it worth getting a normal coupe and swapping everything over?

pull the dent in the pass door and you got a fairly decent looking UR. Has some scratches that may not buff but the hood is good on top. You could drive this car for a while if you did brakes, cold start, and who knows what else that's seized. But sooner, rather than later, You could possibly have a door well fall out on the road.

Strange one.The colour and headlights suggest 83 or 84.The front grill off a newer model, the diff controls look like they have been moved, and the VIN makes it an 82 as it is advertised being built late 1981.

diff was def moved and the right bulb missing. H1/H4's look like very good condition so more recent perhaps? The paint is the question to me... I'm trying to get them to send me paint code from trunk. I should say all of the decals looked very original and very faded and applied the same time. The window trim was black but fading out to white or is that a sign that the window trim was originally white?
