Default Audi Badge - 'Audi' badge...old and new

Okay - look carefully at the photo below and you will notice that the upper badge has a lacquer / chrome finish (the lacquer has mostly flaked off). The lower badge is a brush aluminium (though plastic) finish as used between maybe 1978 - 1986...I think. I bought the upper badge in 1999 from Audi and it was on my car for 3 months - v poor! If you're still reading this what I want is a 'new' early style badge to go with the other new ones I have collected ready to complete my Audi 200 5T restotation project. It may be anal but I can't have two slightly different badges together - btw did I ever mention that I'm partly German?

I've just bought a brand new / original old brushed silver 'Audi' badge - cost me £16 but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned (the unbrushed one lookes totally different and the laquer comes off after 6 months!). I can get hold of two more - should I buy them or are they a bit expensive?

Hi Randall....i don't think anyone else should decide wether they are expensive or not. It all depends on the individual. We all have different views on prices etc. I wouldn't mind one for mine. I have been looking to find a company that can put the chrome back on the plastic where it is wearing thin. It can't be done as it is part of a process and needs to be done in batches. So I'd say buy them and put them up for when you need them. If you don't use them you can always sell them on at a later date.

I'm getting more concerned about how many quad lamp members will be left on here soon. I reckon I'm getting close to sole and exclusive membership if Randall and Snorky sell up

Jill said at ADI that you might sell yours so you can purchase quattro in a few yrs. Then there'll be no quad lamps left on here

Thats a little distant dream at the moment, I will have the coupe for at least 5 years yet. When my divorce finally comes through then maybe.

At the weekend I asked my ex what she wanted for Christmas and she suggested "how about the divorce we keep promising each other" I was thinking more some perfume and socks as Ive spent my lawyers money on the car

I'd say that was money well spent The lawyer would only waste it on a new Porshce or something like that

May not sell the 200. Well really I was just seeing if anyone else wanted one. Having looked for a long time I reckon these three badges are a rare find. If you want to know where to get one follow the link....

I've bought a lot from here and it's a great place to buy unusual parts.
