Ford orion 1600i ghia, not many left on the road aswell, my first car was an E reg 1.6i ghia decked on 15" sierra cosworth rims, handled like a go cart but any moisture on the road made it hate roundabouts, the rear end would skid out stoopidly, proper motor, Saw a nice one at a show in coventry after ages

Citreon Saxo VTR. When the kids of today are having there midlife crisis they will be the cars they hanker after to remind them of their youth.

I dealt with Citroen on breakdown cover from 92 to 2003 here at Green Flag until they moved to the RAC. They were selling the Saxo VTR & VTS with free insurance with no age limit, you could even buy one with only a provisional licence. You can imagine how many were totalled !! Then they'd go and smash the hire car up as well. It cost us a fortune !!

They eventually put an age restriction on these models for free insurance.

For me being a VAG person through and through, my nominations would be Jetta GTI Mark 2, Scirocco mentioned by some one earlier ( I had 3 as company cars and loved them) and Polo G40 ( wheelspin in 3rd gear in the wet - mental car but loved it)

Absolutley John, both Jetta GTI's (8 Valve & 16 Valve) were great cars very underrated, never got the recognition the Golf did, proper Q cars.
