I'm going to stop apologising now, as I do so with every post as this has been dragged on for too long by me not living at home, and my parents finding it challenging to use e-mail to its full potential

Back from holiday and my parents have informed me that MOT is DONE. Welded a plate on the inside of the drivers side wing where it had rusted a bit, plus a front spring was shot so has been replaced. I think the exhaust has a hole, but that has apparently been patched up for the time being as well, so the new owner as a few things to keep them busy

Away for a wedding this weekend, but will be going down the following weekend to get a full catalogue of pictures and all the info on the car, MOT, registration documents, and put together a proper Advert. Then finally we can see who wants her.

Might put her on ebay still and let people fight it out, as who knows what the value really is, but will let you know asap.

Cheers

Adam

I'd resist putting her on ebay as I think you'll be rather disappointed as to what kind of money they fetch.
Last early pre facelift 80 I saw on there was a bronze '75 model which didn't even make it's £500 reserve

Cheers for that, not going on ebay, hate the place tbh. Right have been a busy boy tonight and here is the full advert, also over at retro rides and will go to audifans.net and pistonheads.

MAIN ADVERT

Audi 80GL - Iberion RED

Engine – Original 1471cc [85bhp]
Miles – 62,644
Year – 1974

OK, before moving onto everything, please be aware that even we don’t know everything about this car as it has been in the family for around 30years. I will speak to my uncle in the coming days and tried to see how much he remembers, as he is 80+ now, and will edit if I get more important information, or have missed anything.

Main Details + Exterior
- Currently SORN [thus no tax], MOT 11+months remaining. With having no tax and us having it SORN with no insurance she would have to be insured by the new owner first to allow tax to be purchased.
- Been in the family ~30 years after bought from original owner by my great uncle, now in my fathers name.
- Factory fitted sunroof – Excellent condition, fully working, some minor rust bits formed.
- Original Chrome work throughout, from bumpers, door handles, wing mirrors, window surrounds.
- Original hubcaps in fairly good nick with some dents and scratches.
- Good tyres with loads of tread, Continentals on front.
- We have the original Haynes user manual.
- Exterior has been washed, clayed, polished [Autoglym Super resin], and waxed with collonite. Interior seats scrubbed with seat cleaner, Armour All used on plastics, internal metalwork [around doors] all cleaned and degreased, also engine bay had a weekend spent degreasing and cleaning up.

Interior
- Fully original interior in STUNNING condition.
- Crack on centre console left mounting point, still in one piece.
- Frayed passenger side seat belt [still passed MOT].
- Slight crack on left side of steering wheel housing plastic.
- Roof lining is great condition.
- Front seats and bench also in fantastic condition.
- Radio works, so does the heater and all other electrics [need to verify to be 100% correct].
- Boot in good nick with no rust, [with petrol gauage easy to access].

Engine Bay
- Engine in good condition and she runs well.........
- BUT does not idle brilliantly from cold, although perfect once warmed up.
- Rust on drivers side wing removed and welded up before MOT [see pic].
- Front grill seems to have been resprayed in black [easy to take off, already coming off].

Negatives
- Petrol gauge doesn’t work [see above].
- Replacement front wings.
- Rust on bottom of drivers door, bubbles on passenger door bottom.
- Some minor rust around the interior of the sunroof.
- A few other minor rust patches [see pics]; passenger side door near wing mirror, rear passenger side door.
- Some dents on the boot from a crazy branch, the odd other small dent.
- Some parts of paint touched up to prevent rust, on roof near sunroof, rear passenger quarter panel.

PRICE = 1100 Pounds [damn keyboard shift is dead ]

I have the full 5MP resolution pics, plus even more pictures, so don't hesitate to PM me or e-mail me 'adfinni [AT] hotmail [DOT] com'. Also contact me for my mobile number if you want to have a proper chat. I can speak freely after work after 6.30pm and should also be able to pick up during the day if work isn't too busy.

Finally I got there in the end

MY FAVOURITE BIT: INTERIOR

Here is the crack in the centre console where the damaged bit is coming loose, but it is still all one piece with no missing bits.
