20k in 2013 is pesent money, a UK spec Ur in 1985 was over 25k, which is R8 money today...

And this is something current owners quite often fail to appreciate, it's a fookin' expensive car to own, regardless of age...

As to the original question....

An annual season ticket on a train..... Welcome to 2013......

Can't actually think of anything modern that will have any collectable value in the future, none of them have any character

What's the point of buying and storing new fuckus, to sell it at scrap value 20 years later? Comparable lowest spec 80's escort won't cost much more than scrap in any case.

Because in the UK we seem to like spending stupid money on 30 year old crap cars that nobody really wanted when they were new, however we don't like paying decent money for high quality older cars that we wanted when new but couldn't afford..........you got to love us Brits..
