B3 Audi 80 - what PCD ET?

Hi guys,

Currently have 15" Ronals running 205/50/15 on 4 stud pattern - I am guessing 4x108?

Anyone know what the original offset is? and what is the largest, safe size you can go to without fouling the arches? (and conmesurate ET offset?)

At the moment I am guessing 215/40/17? but dont know about the ET?

Firstly you are doing a cracking job with your car and I am watching closely as I have just SORNED my beloved 16V after 5 years of daily service to bring it back up to scratch.

Interesting that both your car and mine started life at Trust Motors in Leeds !

The wheels on your car are from a Series 4 (B4) 80 Sport, yours would have originally had the 15 inch speedline alloys ( the ones with 5 spokes and false studs round the rim).

The offsets etc escape me at the moment but yes 4 x 108.

This is just an opinion after 14 years of driving 80's but 17's are too big, it will ruin the ride quality.

The standard tyre was 50 section on the Sport is what you've got now but when I put new wheels on mine last year with 55 section rather than 50 the difference in ride comfort was amazing

4 x 108 15" speed lines came with 3 offsets.

First ones fitted to the 1989/1990 20v coupes were ET38 and had the word speed line embossed in to one of the spokes.

The later ones didn't have any wording and were ET37.

ET45's were fitted on to the sports.

17s look too big on 80s.

and yeah the ride suffers badly.

aero ronals which are ET37, which came off a coupe

Which Porsche are you getting these calipers from? And where are you getting the discs from? i take it thats not the S2 discs? Oh and do the carriers come from the porsche too or are they custom jobs? Sorry for the quiz, just i was planning fitting the G60's and discs from the20v to the front of my car, but if your set up is better and not much more expensive or difficult i may go down that route when i eventually get my Aeros Refurbed and some rubber applied lol

ET37 sits further away from the hub, wider track, than ET42.

So common concensus on 17s rules them out if the ride becomes harsher, it's already quite crashy compared to my B6 S4, but, I will need to at least go to 16s in order to gain some calliper space/disc space for brake upgrades, the end goal is 280bhp, stock brakes with no abs won't cut it.

Man, I remember those speed lines on my B3 1.8 Quattro from back in the day and at the time I thought they were the nuts, now they look really small lol

You can still get the S2 brakes under the 15" wheels
Although if going for that sort of power, i'd seriously, seriously be thinking about adding the ABS, don't matter what brakes you have on it, if manage to lock the front wheels up your fooked anyway!
Just a thought.

you can also run some Porsche calipers and 280 mm. discs (IIRC) under 15'' with the right offset, spokes etc. But 16'' wil make life easier for sure.
