Coupe GT door seals

Hi all

I need to replace the door seals on my GT. Apart from looking rather tired and allowing a lot of wind noise, the passenger side is letting in water (thanks to the never ending British rain!).

Does anyone know where I can source these, either original or more likely an equivalent with the correct dimensions? Assuming quite a few of you have done this, especially when restoring your car!

Are they actually damaged? I've had some good results with a product called "Gummi Pflege" on my TT Roadster seals, you rub it into the seal and it has a bit of a rejuvenating effect. Dried up most of my drivers footwell paddling pool, about £8 on eBay for a stick.

Hmmmm, that’s interesting, I’ll check that out.... I’ve used creative Vaseline use in the winter to prevent water ingress, freeze and rubber tear in dodgy situations.... Vaseline has many uses in dodgy situations...

Thanks for the tip! No the passenger side isn’t damaged so I think the is worth a shot. Very noisy on that side too but on close inspection the seal doesn’t look rather flat. The drivers side is has a few small tears but hasn’t caused an issue so thought best to leave it for now.

I’ll report back with how it goes

If the snake oil doesn't work, seals+direct have been very good for me

+1 for the Vaseline, I've used silicon spray as well but it's a bit watery and nowhere near as satisfying as rubbing in the "jelly"

You could also try dressing the metalwork outwards so the seal presses harder to the door?

No, not yet but they do have a good range. Only my tractor seals so far and they are excellent.
