Default Thermostart

Before you point me to a haynes manual, pls do attempt to answer the question.

Where is the thermostart for my '75 1500 80 GL located? I suspect it is sticking as the cab has been standing for a few years, and the top hose is untouchable while the lower hose one can hold for a while.

I am attempting to source a haynes manual, but they seem to be far and wide apart here in South Afrika for this model

Its just where the bottom hose connect to the water pump two 10m bolts and the housing may be made of plastic.

She runs well, drove her for 60km's today. It was though VERY close to the red line, thus I know I have cooling issues.

Audi Derek, I think I saw those 2 bolts. I suspected that that might be it, but I also wondered as to why would the Germans put it that close to the pump
