Default Strange noises - Parts Available?

Hi all,

I'm getting a loud moaning noise from what seems to be the front off side corner of my series 3 100 Avant auto. noise seems most pronounced between 20 and 40 mph. I'm getting vibration through the pedals too. Don't think its the gearbox as coasting along in neutral or drive makes no difference.

From what I've seen on here it may be a CV problem or driveshaft problem. Any dissenters on this?

I've not checked with Audi yet, but are new driveshafts still available?

Difficult without hearing the noise but usual suspects are wheel bearings or CV joints, does it get louder on lock or Kick the wheel more on lock, if so its CV joints. No need for new shafts, just get new joints from the likes of GSF car parts. Wheel bearings tend to rumble and get louder as you put load on them ( going round a corner at speed for example).

Doesn't seem to worsen on full lock. I've got my fingers crossed that it's not driveshaft.

I'm just curious about driveshaft availability as I didn't see any offered by GSF.

Will not be the shaft itself, just one of the joints on the ends.
If it does not change on lock at slow speed it could be a wheel bearing....
