Default Would anyone be happy to help me do clutch on my Coupe?

As title says really

I have a 94 Coupe 2.6 V6.

The clutch isnt slipping but biting right at the top now.

If I get the clutch kit and aligning tool (ahem, big screwdriver!),would someone from here help me if I paid them??

Tx

Steve

hydraulic clutch = self adjusting = seems like it is out of travel but it isn't.

Made the same mistake when we bought the A4, thinking I'd get a bit of money off..........
Me: "I like it, but the clutch is biting a bit high....."
him: "that's because it's a hydraulic clutch YOU IDIOT"

If it isn't slipping, don't change it.

Take it out for a good blast, maybe round a ring road with lots of roundabouts, and cane the arse off it. If it slips when putting the power down in top, change it.

Otherwise, save your pennies.

If its near the top that does 99% of the time mean it is nearly worn out and needs replacing

Well thanks!Just got back to this barrage of response!Nice one!

Im going to throw something into the mix here,as I suspect that another component is shortly to die.

The "Bomb".

Now then, this is a hydraulic accumulator right? If this is nearly fooked, then would it make my clutch bite at the top.I say this,as I recently changed the PAS pump,AND had the brakes STAMPED at by a very big MOT tester. The clutch was as light as a feather and the brakes were superb, and also feather light for the next week or so.

WOuld you say Im on the right track? As steering, brakes, and clutch all get their pressure/assistance from the bomb dont they??

Mart, yer on if it is the crutch!thx man!

Much appreciated Steve!

OK,well Im going to give her a good old thrashing tomorrow.Ive finished my throttle body work now.I decided to get it exactly like the mod shown in my post here which I robbed pics from the S2 forum for.Muahahaha! She really does have the air flying into the plenum now,and is lovely to drive.

So as its not slipping Im going to hope that she stays this way.Mind you,I now know who to ask when Im gonna do her, oooer!

Would you guys say take gearbox off in the traditional method or engine and box out together??

Steve
