Rust on an E24 is not something which might come if you don't look after it. It's going to happen whatever you do - even if you take it into your home at night, let it sleep in front of the fire, and fondle its nether regions daily with a soft fluffy cloth. After a huge (£14k) restoration in 2002, my E24 is still lucky to even come close to the condition of my original, untouched 20v quattro RR. It's never been as good as the shell of my WR which was out of its bodywork warranty by the time my 635 was hatched.
Trade an Audi Coupe for a 635.

is the rust issue, better or worse than that of a ford capri?
Also, don't worry! I wasn't planing on trading in the audi for it.. was gonna keep both. I throw away nothing!
