I'll have a go at the vacuum hoses this week.
It seems to be one thing after another right now. I replaced the fuel pump and filter last week as the old one was making a loud buzzing sound, Also replaced some of the fuel return line as it was corroded. but I also think the fuel pump relay is on its way out as the pump (even though it's been replaced) still only intermittently primes, and its struggling to start when it's cold.
Is there anything else I should check? I only use the Shell V power fuel. I pulled the air filter earlier and that looks pretty recent. Car does smell a bit fumey sometimes though.
