Best way to do this is to use a donor car with everything you need, maybe a front clip with the gearbox etc.

What do i need

I do happen to have the complete front assembly (engine, gearbox, drive shafts, suspension, brakes etc.) from a KK 80q if that helps? Also got the same in bits from another KK and a 90q

My understanding is it's simpler to drop the subframe and transplant the lot rather than using the 4 cylinder parts. But if you do just want an engine & box I just happen to have them to 😉

You need the 5 cylinder subframe from a B2 as its different to the 4 cylinder subframe in the car now.

Are you 100% sure as the bloke i bought the engine off said the subframe of the 4 cylinder is identical

From memory (like 20 years ago) 4 cylinder engine has the engine mount pressings on the front of the subframe these are missing on the 5 cylinder cars and as I never owned a front wheel drive B2 (only owned B2/3/4 quattros) the 5 cylinder quattro cars have the gearbox mount pressings on the rear of the front subframe like the B3 cars.
