I want to revive the carpet in my old Audi, it's stained and faded. I'm going to take it out, clean it and then I want to re-dye it medium blue (it's light blue at the mo). Does anyone know where you can get carpet dye - I assume for nylon.

Be interesting to see how it's done.
It's pretty easy with modern grey and black carpets though. Snorky has the same problem with the carpets in his Coupe on the drivers side. The carpet is blue but has faded to an almost pale yellow. |

Okay, here is A solution... You can buy a dye from the USA which you dilute and spray on the carpet, it's colourfast etc - available in 20 different colours $9.95 from http://www.goestores.com/catalog.asp...&DeptID=198128 . Went through the order process however found that on top of the $30 postage there is a $20 money tranfer fee! My inlaws are in the US so I thought they could bring it back but of course liquids are a no-go and if it burst in their luggage I wouldn't be popular!
So anyone want to go in with me and order a few bottles? |

aren't liquids ok if it's in the main suitcase??
It's only a no-go on hand luggage. |

I don't think they would be happy to have it in their main luggage - it would make everything a lovely blue colour if it burst!

If they pack it right it will be fine in main baggage, its only an issue on carry on luggage

Have to agree, I spend a lot of time in the US best thing to carry liquid bottles in suitcases are zip lock bags (readily available in most US kitchens), as Coxy says you can always double bag it!

I would like to think I could talk them into it but I'm already getting them to bring back some other Audi stuff (Audi 5000 OEM ignition leads only available in the US!) and don't want to push it.
