Default 1982 Audi 100 CS - full detail!

Thought I better start doing a few write-ups as Quattro777 will want to see what I've been up to with his latest acquistion apart from taking her to the Breakfast Club on Sunday!

First up, a quick dousing of Valet Pro's Orange pre wash then out with the Gerni hot pressure washer and some Valet Pro Car Shampoo through the product feed line to give her a good soaping and wash down. Then a rinse of cold water and then in to the unit for a few befores.
Hard to pick up in the pictures, but let's put it this way. It's 27 year old paint which has probably never had a proper polish in it's life!

then the car was clayed. Again probably the first time in 27 years!
This was just from the boot lid.

Now you'll have to excuse the fact that this will be done over a few days/weeks even but Daniel isn't collecting for a month or so and it will be in storage till then with us, so there's no major rush. It's just I had a few hours spare today so thought I'd make a start.

After the car was clayed, it was time to start correcting the paint and put some shine back in to the old girl.

Choice of tools for the job are:

Mor Tools Rotary with 3M pads on a 3M backing plate and 3M Fast Cut plus polish. Having done more old Audi's than I care to remember, it's a winning combination which works well.
A few of the areas had a large number of RDS and cat scratches and some etching and these had a few extra passes of the fast cut plus and got rid of about 98% of the marks. There are still a few RDS, but given it's 27 y/old paint, it's probably looking better this afternoon than when it first left the factory! After that, I have gone over her with lime prime, but as yet, haven't put any wax on as I had to get stuff ready for a meeting in the morning.

Boot lid afters:

Bonnet afters:

and that's as far as I'm up to at the minute!
One boot lid, one bonnet and the o/s rear wing! They say Rome wasn't built in a day so when I get on with some more (Thursday maybe) then I'll post up some more!

I dunno his name to be honest! Some chap from Telfraud.
It's the one on 18" Azev rims that's on the left hand side in the unit.
