Who on here still has a set? even better who still has a blast every now & then??
since seeing James May @ Brooklands the other week I've had a real urge to set up a figure of eight and get spinning out! Was impressed to learn about the 'traction control' on the newer cars in the form of magnets and the digital upgrade to allow extra cars/switching lanes etc! I've got an old set in my mum's loft somewhere with some 70's F1 cars and mk3 Escorts, god knows if it'll work as its not seen light of day since around 1989/90 but gonna try and get over there next week and dig it out!! Some cracking cars available too on ebay these days, I'm able to get versions of all the sportier cars ive owned as well as the 'drem garag' stuff ![]() |

I have the`Super Touring' with 190 Cosssie merc vs Calibra Turbo from DTM set & The `RS Cosworth` set with the Red & Black Sierra RS500s in the back room, new and complete Usually make a big track for two in the front room around christmas time... approaching soon.
Bought them from a bloke a few years ago in as new condition who claimed he had the biggest collection in the UK second only to Jackie Stewart ? As kids we got kits every other year as a big present between me and my brother, we ammased lots of track and cars from bring and buy sales at school. The first kit we ever had was the yellow and red TR7, I still have a yellow TR7 today, but the tyres are so old its just slides sideways and falls off the track if you use it.... bit like a normal TR7 then! My brother bought the quattro rally car with the rubber band 4wd, but it could always be beaten by my M3 as it slid off the banked sections if he went too fast with its low belly for the rubber bands |
