getting alloys off steel hubs

Hi,

I visited my Audi 100 today to nick the wheels off it, and put it on axle stands so I can use the wheels for winter.

However, the alloys are stuck onto the hubs (presumably bimetallic corrosion).

Big hammer and a block of wood?????

electro chemical galvanic reaction. Cure- bog fookin rubber mallet and a block of wood

To stop this put a smear of copper grease on the inner rim of the wheels..

a big size 12 boot on the tyre side to side

I tried a size 10 steel toecap and it didn't work.

Will try wood and BFO hammer tomorrow.
