Anyone noticed it's that time of the year when it get's a bit colder and we have those eight legged, eight eyed monster legging it across your living room carpet. Apparently this year is going to be a bumber year for spiders.
Personally I am one of those who finds them; Horrendously scary can't kill them can't touch them Can just about stomach catching one with a glass jar and a thick wad of cardboard. Jaytee on the other habd will gladly pick them up and toss them out the window (she does have some uses bless). Anyway here's a fun poll.. |

Living in a 16th century farmhouse guess I have no choice but to live with them..... however I'm not scared of them nor am I in love with them. I just see them as part of nature and if they get in my way i trap them in a glass and thrwo them out the window.

Not scared of them(unless it,s a Blackwidow),more weary of them.
A couple of weeks ago,i got into bed and switched off the light.A few minutes later, something hit me on the head.I brushed it off and switched the light back on,to see a spider go around the side of the wardrobe. Switched the light back off.But it was on my mind, that it could crawl in my ears or mouth. Never kill them, put them in jar and then outside. Karl. |

They come inside to escape the coldening weather. The males are usually the smaller ones and they come in for a reason...to mate. So the larger ones are females and they will seek out any nice little warm nooks or crannies. They don't eat much over the winter which is why most die BUT if the male, who has just mated does not get out pretty darn quick he gets gobbled ( no, not that way) up by the female. Some of the larger females can be several years old. So spare them a thought and don't just squash them. Me, I don't mind them if I can see em, wouldn't pick one up without a glass and card but it's when one screams across the duvet that they get me worried.

Bloody hate them. They scare the sh1t out of me. We've had a few rather large ones in the house and garage and they've all been walloped! But i always feel guilty afterwards

If they crap on the cars from the roof of the garage or the car port, I'll bloody murder them...
If they're running round the house (the big buggers with hobnail boots one), I'll scoop them up in my hands and throw them out... If.... The dog hasn't got them tangled up in her wiskers first.... ![]()

Ying and yang
I ask our 5 year old "did it hurt you?" "no" "well don't hurt it" spiders eat flies and wasps. Wasps and flies are pointless. Glass and card or your fingers. |
