I tested the output of my knock sensor today,
the results I got were as follows 1000rpm 0.001V 2000rpm 0.010V 3000rpm 0.025V 4000rpm 0.075V I couldnt go any higher as she wears only a downpipe at the mo, don't think the neighbours were impressed at all ![]() with the engine running approx 3000rpm I could get the voltage to go up to 0.030V by tapping the cyl head with a 10mm allen key with the engine off I was getting 0-0.012V by lightly tapping the sensor, didn't want to hit it hard though. These are all AC voltages, and you really need a decent multimeter with a memory to see the peaks. Also measured with ecu connected, I would expect to see higher if the sensor were tested without a load, Does anyone have any figures/ proper test procedures for these sensors? |
