Default Credit Card Processing Terminals & Machines

Just need to pick your collective brains really...

As this Valley Gemstones malarkey is developing we've started to look away from the PayPal/online e-commerce, as it has it's limitations for processing other enquiries. Ideally, we need a mobile card processing facility like this..

http://www.cardsave.net/Card-Machines/Mobile.html

Has any of you good folk got experience of these from a trade point of view? Be them either mobile or static/shop/office based?

Any experiences etc more than welcome please, we've got a meeting coming up on Wednesday.

Many thanks in advance

Ian

Ian,
is it just for on-line credit card sales or point of sale direct with the customer?

I'd have a look at Google Checkouts as well if it is mainly on-line sales.

It will be card holder not present and face to face i think, the rates have come down though which is why we moved and halved our charges

It's for both Al, the mobile facility of ‘Point of Sale’ is something we've got to have really, as when we go out with the stock, the intrinsic value of the Jewellery and Minerals is beyond cash sale, cheque books are seldom carried by people these days, and obviously carry a substantial risk from our point of view. We also plan to use it to process on-line transactions as the PayPal set up is very long winded for Credit Card users who are not Paypal registered. If you pop over to the website www.valleygemstones.co.uk and set up a dummy order, it processes all of the details on our site, then takes you to PayPal and goes through the process again, only after trying to encourage you to open a Paypal account.

My Mac/Snap-on tool salesmen use them. Might be worth asking your local agent.

Hi,

We use Axalto machines. 1 mobile and 1 static. Never had a problem with either. We use Streamline for processing and again have been very good. After a few months trading you can call them and they will discount you rate.

Ah, thanks folk... Am I right in saying Axalto has changed it's name recently?

Poops, with your mobile machine, is it fully mobile, eg on a Mobile Phone Network like Vodafone, or is it linked into your Static one for working say a restaurant? Only it's the mobile one we'll need...
