Question Injectors? any options?

My friend is going to take a look at my injectors at the weekend. so we should know foe certain if that is the problem or not.

Just wondering what, if any are my options regarding injectors replacement? Are there any better/up rated ones I could fit?

& where would be the cheapest place to buy?

Also, are these 'lucas' versions just as good as the bosch? as i remember seeing an Lucas set on ebay a while ago.. brand new and were cheaper than the genuine bosch.

But just to re cap my original Q: is there an injector, say from a turbo that would have higher flow rates? for example?

cheers in advance..

To be honest, youll not need to worry about getting fuel in there through a standard injector, getting the fuel in is easy, getting the air in is very much harder.

Just get a set of standard replacements and youll not go far wrong.

I tried selling a set of injectors on here recently.

Still available if needed

Question

Remind why you think you have an injector issue. As far as I remember the early 10Vt used the same injectors. The K-jet system can flow far more than is actually needed on the NA engines.

My problem is that one of them probably isn't atomizing the fuel properly. hence my poor running even after replacing all the ignition components.

My friend is going to pull the injectors out at the weekend and see if they are spraying properly.

I just thought i'd ask if there was anything 'better' i could replace them with when i change them. But i see the consensus is that the standard items are perfectly capable. So i'll prob invest in a brand new injector set. They are 20 years old after all, so maybe a new set will see an improvement in performance & fuel economy as well?

Unless of coarse i went EFi? What would that cost?

Just had an idea acctually. Has anyone ever tried fitting the injectors and ECU from a 7A engine, on to a 10 valve?

Make sure the atomised fuel does NOT go onto your bare skin as it can penetrate it and cause you a nasty blood poisoning type episode.
Use rubber gloves and youll be fine.

Might be worthwhile buying some replacement o seals for when you do remove.... no doubt they will be worn and refitting will be a pain and likely leak.

About 70p each last time i checked?

I'll make sure i stand well clear.

So is this worse than getting a bit of petrol on your hands at the petrol station?
