Impact Driver Recommendation

Folks,

I'm getting old and just don't have the stamina of youth anymore, so the idea of manually dealing with nuts/bolts and screws is not appealing, not to mention time consuming. So, I am considering getting an Impact Driver, for use on the car and in general....

I'd be grateful for any recommendations on suitable makes/models/specifications of said drivers which aren't going to severely dent my wallet.

I can well recommend a milwaukee m18 fuel for bolts and nuts,but the price (£370 ish) for occasional use maybe not acceptable,you never need to worry whether its going to get the job done though.Ive also got a smaller version in 3/8" which i use constantly (£120ish),both are brilliant.I wouldnt be without either

Showing my age here, I was expecting this to be about something you hit with a hammer that generated a shock and rotation

And that was also my first thought.
Hmm. I prefer to call it experience.


I can highly recommend the Milwaukee cordless. Don’t have one, have used one. Marvellous.

Ah, we are talking about the electric type.
Dewalt - it's brilliant! Just don't touch your cambelt pulleys with it.
FFX about £200 bare (no battery)

Has to be Milwaukee if funds allow.

I have an M18 Fuel 1/2 with 5 amp battery and far superior to anything else I have used. Friend is even looking at getting one to replace his year old Snap On.

I also have the Milwaukee 3/8 Stubby Impact and an M18 Drill and they are also very good.

I don't think you can beat an air impact driver if you have a compressor...ok it can be a bit fiddly switching on and hooking up the air hose but cheap to buy and maintain.
