Default Type 2's

Now I'm not much of a VW fan, but my father owned a Type 2 Dormobile or two and was into the old 'dubs'...

But recently I've seen two Type 2's that have got me scratching my nuts a bit..

Both are classic type 2's with Bay windows rather than split screens, but one was on a 54 plate and the other, an 09 plate... The 54 plate one looked absolutely stack/standard type 2 whilst the 09 plate had an additional grille in the front that sort of spoilt/detracted from the 'look'... Neither sounded remotely air cooled, flat four.....

Someone remanufacturing them are they?

They are still made in Brazil.
The ones with the extended front grill have a radiator up and a 1.6 VW petrol engine in (watercooled). The 54 plate one could well have the air cooled engine in though.

They were both right hookers, is Brazil RHD too, or do they make RHD for export?

There's 2 companies in the UK that import them.
Danbury still do conversions for them. You can buy them as a full camper still, and you can opt to pay for RHD as well
