Default Sports Exhaust for an A100 2.2 KU

Ive got a A100 CS Sport 1988, with the fuchs and all. I want to enhance the rear end, the standard downward pointing backbox is too dull.

What have you got, ideally something like a Jetex item?

Thanks, Dav

You could always try Custom Auto Craft

i have been looking into this myself and the only company i can find is a jetex mild steel application - and i had the same type on my mk2 jetta and wasnt impressed as it didnt fit properly and didnt notice any noise difference

my advice to u is get one custom made (powerflow/pipewerx/longlife) or just cut the end off ur old one and buy a new tip for it

Thats exactly the conclusion I have come to. I might try unclamping the rear section of my exhaust and see what it sounds like, i was even hovering with the idea of a straight pipe from the middle box, thatll give it a mean sound but it may be too overbearing and sound a little too unrefined! Im concerned with just getting a custom back box, paying all that cash then sounding too quiet, I could have just got a tailpipe for £10, like you said.

I dont think loss of torque will be an issue with the exhaust being so long in the first place. Im still considering the options as of yet.

u could remove the rear box but then u'll have a giant hole where the exhaust pipe should be??

also where would u get a straight through pipe from for this model, would you make it?
because awesome gti do them for mk2 golfs etc - but its really difficult to find anything to modify these cars

I would remove the back box just to see how it sounds, it would almost be like having a straight pipe there, it would fail the MOT without a back box. As for getting it made a custom exhaust place would do it for not much money. i doubt i would do that anyway, it was just a thought for consideration.

Do you have any pics of the poweflow exhaust? What does it sound like? Loud/loud only when flooring it/quiet?
