Default Cam Bearing Caps

Handed over my spare cylinder head to Tony today for it's refurb, polish and new cam.

Recieved a message tthis afternoon telling me the Cam Bearing Caps are missing.

So I need 3 of these urgently. Tried VAG-CAT to see if they are available new but the part is not listed. So I need to get some second hand ones or failing that a used cylinder head. Head is for a 5 pot 10 valve engine.

Any help very much appreciated.

Cheers

Martyn

Yes Gib it may well be. I have swapped over one cap from a 1b turbo head i have and it appears to line up fine but until i check the dimensions with the bore gauge, it may not be viable.

Normally they are machine specifically for each head but you may get away with some measuring and remachining. Are these the same on all 10v heads if so i may have a set somewhere that are not needed.

Yeah Jay theyre all pretty much the same design as far as i can see.

It may be possible to modify them to fit via machinework, but it all depends on how far out they are. Without them, the heads no use, which is a shame.

It's just the head I need Jay. I'm trying not to have to take mine off the road and leave her headless. So if it's going to be compatible (and I still can't get my noodle around all these different engine designations) I'd take it off your hands for a fee of course
