Sad news and it looks from photos that the barrier was the reason for his untimely death.

I wouldn't have wanted to be one of the emergency team attending that. Horrific.

Terrible!

(I must say my first thought was that I really hope it's not Walter!)

No one would stand a chance hitting that barrier in a low slung car. Crazy design, obviously only meant for deflecting trucks and large vehicles from oncoming traffic.
