this is a serious question so no smutty replies please
![]() my little boy turned 5 at Christmas and I've been reading him Enid Blytons "Enchanted wood" and "wishing chair" stories. 6 books later and we finished the last one tonight (there were a few tears until he told me to get a grip and grow up). Has anyone got any recommendations from either their childhood or that they've read to their children? |

Karen strongly recommends "Emil and the detectives"
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...vegreyreade-21 When you've finished with it i'll have it off you ! What about Enid blyton's famous five series, any of the narnia collection, or even "swallows and amazons"

Famous 5? Might have a look, its been 35 years since i read one of those- but i wonder if they might be a bit complex? We started a Roald Dahl book tonoight, "The Twits", and he quickly got bored- I think it'd be more up his street when he's 6 or 7 The thing he liked about the faraway tree and wishing chair was that they were simple storys about good and naughty and he's still of an age where he believes they are fact rather than fiction I've already bought him a DVD of "Audi quattro, the official story" for his 1st birthday. |
