beginners question, but better safe than sorry, so:
I'm removing the instrument binnacle on my 81 WR (urq) to get the odometer and clock repaired by a specialist. I got the covers and switches off, so all that remains is the speedo cable and another cable which I don't know the function of...(EDIT: ok, found out it's the turbo pressure gauge) The speedo cable, how do I disconnect it? I tried turning the metal endpiece by hand, but it didn't immediately move... The other cable (turbo pressure gauge): can I just unscrew the copper nut? See below for pictures. Many thanks! It should just unscrew, but they can be a little tight sometimes, just unscrews in the usual direction btw, anticlockwise.

So I managed to unscrew the round nut (it took a small wrench to get it to loosen initially), but unfortunately that was not enough to disconnect the cable, see picture below. The internal cable appears to still be attached... I pulled strongly, but besides feeling a little flexy, they didn't separate. The inner part that became visible, should it remain with the cluster or is it part of the cable?
