Sorry to ask on here but my non classic daily steed, 2008 A6 C6 3.0tdi, has had a fuel gauge issue for a while. IE it shows nothing most of the time. Very occasionally comes to life.
At MOT test this week they had the emissions probe up the exhaust pipe (the car's, not mine ) and gave it sustained wellie for the test.Gauge sprang back into life. Anyone think that is just down to vibration of some electrical contact or if there could be a sensor involved? All guidance welcome. 86 Urq has total sympathy with it as entire dash is dead.
