Default Government Plans to Shaft Us Yet Again?

...Driving to work this morning and heard on the radio,.....or at least I think I did?....That today...Mr Brown and his government intend to deal with people who continually fail to insure for their cars by infact, not dealing with THEM directly ( say for example by increasing the fines and changing the points awarded for the offence of No Insurance from 6 to 12 and therefore an instant disqualification) but instead have decided to penalise everybody that owns a car and even if it is off the road, enforcing that it has a policy of insurance on it, on pain of a £100 FPN through the post!!!!!!.......

I havent managed to find out anymore than that today....Anyone know more???....Tell me its just a proposal please!

The proposal as I understand it is to clamp down on untaxed/uninsured drivers. In effect a zero tolerance party. Personally as a law abiding citizen I don't have any issue. I don't want any uninsured scrote hitting me and getting away with it.

Don't really see how you and I should be worried to be honest. As long as you SORN your car if it's not taxed you won't have a problem and a SORN costs nothing.

Prudence is quite a nice name. Personally I prefer to be called Mary at the weekends

The news report intimated that EVEN IF its not used, just simply ANY VEHICLE that is owned by, will need to be insured....If that is the case, there are a few people with projects that will be affected without doubt....Only caught the radio report though so I am not sure if its still at proposal stage or being signed through today.
