Hi all,
Anybody know where I could find a new reservoir for the rear windscreen wash water? I can't find it on Audi Tradition, but that may be due to their poor search engine... Ideally new or as good as new. For a WR quattro. Thanks! |

Get a second hand one and bleach it or leave it to stand over night with dishwasher tabs in it then lob it in said dishwasher

I think I have a couple in my 'parts department' at home. Will look tonight and get back to you.

I do have 2, but both have the same break. On each one of the screw brackets is missing, so that when you fix it to the inside of your boot it is attached by just the single screw bracket. I did have it attached to my last coupe as it is. Your welcome to have it from me for free until you get a newer one, just cover my postage.
Alternatively you could try quattro corner - I got a coolant reservoir off him for very reasonable money recently. For secondhand, audicoupeparts on here might be able to help. Regards Andy

I'm not sure what happened with these things. When I first bought my Quattro, the rear washer bottle was the original one. Following the 1999 accident, the bodyshop had started liberating parts, and 'lost' the original bottle. The replacement was attached by only the two screw tags on the side, whereas the original had a bonded on attachment that hooked into a slot in the car metal work near the spout.
I got seriously fed up with the increasingly inept approach to fixing the problem, and eventually screwed a self tapper with a small grommet into the top of the bottle. It's been fine for the last 15 years (despite the efforts of the tit from Cardiff.)

Andy, thanks for the offer! Mine has both brackets broken... I'm going to try to source a fully intact one first, but if that doesn't work, I may get back to you: one working bracket is still better than none :-)

The biggest problem with these in the early days was that they were not water tight when full with enthusiastic driving, so in the early years the tanks were regularly filled to the brim, then instantly leak into the bootwell, causing rust....
Either leave it in the bin, or for total originality, 1/4 fill it and tip the rest in the boot to rot its own way out....
