Default German Ebay

Does anyone out there have any experience shopping, buying and shiping something from German Ebay?

The translation barrier continues to be a problem, particularly in regard to arranging/sourcing shipping. This of course makes it impossible to agree on a cost up front.

Just use an on line translator like babelfish and it all gets easier. It may take some time to translate and translate but at least you won't, shouldn't get fleeced.

Here are the 1st and second responses to my questions of "will you ship to the US?" and then if so "how much through DHL Shipping " which someone recommended to me.

da ich keine ahnung habe mit welchen versandt ich das paket in die staaten versenden kann biete ich diesen versandt nicht an

wenn ich bei der berechnung nicht falsch gemach hab kostet das mit dhl ca. 1900 euro

It works one way but not the other as German pronunciation is not quite like ours, probably a bit like in Latvia too.

Here are the translations I got???????

"because I have no idea what I sent the package in the States, I offer this can not be shipped to these "

"if I am in the calculation did not misunderstand the cost for the remaining, with about 1900 euro dhl"

At first it seemed like no, not possible. Then 1900 Euros? That's like 2500 dollars US.

My other investigations indicated 250-300 Euro. Am I misunderstanding?

I use eBay.de a lot - especially to sell Audi stuff for huge amounts! Babel Fish helps but you do need a basic knowledge of German or you will come unstuck - fortunately I'm a bit German. Most Germans speak English so I sometimes email before hand to make contact.
