Default GT5S / GT Fuel Injection differences

On closer examination, the 2144cc K-Jet engine in my Coupe is tired in a big way. I've been offered a carbed engine out of a GT5S, is there much difference between the short engines or is it just the manifold?

Carbed engine is normally a 1921cc, there was a carbed 2144cc in the audi 100 of the day if memory serves me correctly. Ifyour car is already fuel injected though, best to keep it that way as quite a few differences including the fuel tank.....

Ahaaaa, cheers for that. The plan was to put the injection onto the carbed short engine, but if it's a 1921cc, I'll bin the whole idea off.

From memory, the bore is 79.5 on the WN and 81 on the KE. The rest of the capacity increase is from the throw of the crank. (Stroke).

Don't worry about displacement - if you want to use fuel injection, you would try to use bottom end only anyway - as there would be no place to fit injectors.

However, there's one interesting thing in that ancient 1.9 engine - I've heard that there's the most aggressive stock camshaft found on 5 pot engine - the only problem is that there's shims, not tappets, so head which receives that cam should have shims too.
